Do You Belong in America’s Most Extroverted State? Posted on November 7, 2013 by socialmedia by TIME Magazine recently published America’s Mood Map: An Interactive Guide to the United States of Attitude, which explores the different temperament of United States residents. Led by psychologist and American expat Jason Rentfrow of the University of Cambridge, the study spanned 13 years and included nearly 1.6 million survey respondents. Below you can see some overall mood characteristics of regions in the United States. Five primary categories were measured for each state: openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. These characteristics were measured through the surveys and given an overall rank a numerical score, with scores of 50 indicating the U.S. average. Wisconsin gained the top marks across the country for extroversion with a score of 69.8, and Time offered this great example, “picture the fans at a Packers game — even a losing Packers game.” We agree! Wisconsin is full of outgoing citizens ready to tell you about the great things going on in our state. Click here to take the quiz which determines what state is your best fit.
